The V3's electric free-spin wheel (it shifts modes automatically like the MX Master) can mode-switch unexpectedly, and Synapse's scroll acceleration makes single detents register as multiple steps — users mistake both for encoder failure. Sensor and tracking
Move the pointer smoothly across the arena. Jumps, stutters or a cursor that won't reach the edges point to a dirty sensor lens, a bad surface (glossy or glass), or a failing sensor. Wipe the lens, try a proper mousepad, and re-test before blaming the hardware.
