Privacy Policy

The short version

Every test on PeriphCheck runs entirely inside your browser. Your microphone audio, camera video, keystrokes, mouse movements and controller inputs are processed locally on your device and are never uploaded, recorded on a server, or shared. We couldn't see them if we wanted to — the site has no backend.

Device permissions

The mic and webcam tests ask for permission through your browser's standard prompt. The resulting stream is analyzed in-page (waveform, levels, resolution, FPS) and discarded. Optional recordings in the mic test live in your browser's memory only and are destroyed when you leave the page. Snapshots from the webcam test are generated locally and saved directly to your device.

Analytics

We use privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics (aggregate page views and anonymous tool-usage events such as "test started" / "test completed"). No personal identifiers, no cross-site tracking, no advertising profiles. This data tells us which tools matter so we can improve them.

Cookies and local storage

We set no tracking cookies. The only thing stored on your device is your theme preference (light/dark) in your browser's local storage. If advertising is introduced in the future, we will add a consent banner and update this policy before any ad cookies are set.

Third parties

Pages are served from our hosting provider's CDN (Cloudflare), which processes IP addresses as part of normal web hosting. We embed no third-party scripts, fonts or trackers on test pages.
